Healthy Living Canandaigua is a free 8-week class offered by the University of Rochester Center for Community Health & Prevention's Promote Health. Prevent Cancer. initiative, in partnership with the Wilmot Cancer Institute. Each class is 1.5 hours long and includes a 1-hour health "talk" and a half hour of group led exercise. The health talks cover information on general nutrition, calories and energy, portion sizes, label reading, recipes, and smart shopping. We have refreshments each class and will also be handing out items to help you stay healthy at home. A healthy diet and regular physical activity can reduce your risk of certain chronic diseases, including some cancers. This class will provide participants with the skills to live a healthier life.
