Cátia Chien‘s illustrations for the picture book “Fireworks” have won her the Caldecott Medal. She’s the first Asian American woman to do so.

Host Peter O’Dowd speaks with Chien about the book, which follows two children on a hot summer day in the city as they play and watch a fireworks display.
