This year’s Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance was to have been a celebration of the event’s 30th Anniversary. Now, the party will have to wait until 2021.
In a message posted to YouTube and shared across social media, GrassRoots founder Jed Puryear announced the postponement of the 30th Annual GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance to July 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In keeping with the festival’s origin as a benefit to support AIDS related causes, Puryear offered thanks to the healthcare workers who are working on the front lines of the pandemic. And, he ended the short message on a hopeful note.
In a written announcement, the Grassroots Festival Organization said they made the decision in consultation with public health officials.
