FIVE MINUTES Commentary by Moira Gunn In June of 2009, WEOS began an informal policy of airing top-of-the-hour NPR newscasts wherever possible between 6pm and 9pm. It's something many listeners had asked for, there aren't many other NPR stations that can heard in the Finger Lakes that do it, and it was generally easy for WEOS to do. As a consequence of that policy, WEOS no longer airs the Five Minutes commentary by Moira Gunn during Tech Nation on Wednesday nights at 7pm. Understandably, there are some fans of Tech Nation who missed the commentary, and at the time there was no way to download a podcast of just the commentary. We discussed this with Moira, and with her permission we have arranged for a download of the Five Minutes to be available each week to our listeners! It updates every Wednesday at about 7:00pm, and it's available for download for one week. Only the most recent week can be downloaded. To get the Five Minutes audio download, right-click the below URL and choose "Save Target As" or "Save File As". http://www.weos.org/technation/5min02.mp2 Note that this is an MP2 audio file, not an MP3. Most software like Windows Media Player, Winamp, or iTunes, can play MP2 files...but they may need to convert it. Also note that this is a completely automated process.
