WHADYA KNOW Live Broadcast from Ithaca

Hey Ithaca!! WHAD'YA KNOW?!? Not much? Not anymore!
Thanks to everyone who came to see the live, nationwide broadcast of Michael Feldman's Whad'ya Know?! at The State Theater, 107 West State Street in Ithaca. It was a sultry, sunny day for Ithaca Festival and downright toasty in the State, but everyone was in for a real treat featuring all sorts of great guests, great music and great humor for two hours on a Saturday!

Frequently Asked Questions:

When did the show air?
The Ithaca show was on Saturday June 5th. Whad'ya Know airs live from 11am to 1pm on WITH 90.1FM Ithaca and from 12n to 2pm on WEOS 89.7FM Geneva. Although for that weekend, WEOS aired it live, too.

A special rebroadcast aired on WEOS 89.7FM on Friday June 11th from 2pm to 4pm.

I couldn't listen live, is there an archive somewhere?
Yep! Whad'ya Know archives all their shows online. The Ithaca/June 5th show is available here:

  • Who were the guests on the show?
In order of appearance, they were:

What was all that crap on the stage?!?!?
"Local flavor!". Heh, seriously, we had donations of decorations including:

    • The giant "chia skate" from the Ithaca SufferJets roller derby team.
    • A huge "official seal" from Ithaca College.
    • A little "official seal" from Cornell University.
    • A "gorge" (decorative rock waterfall) that Michael nearly tripped over at one point.
    • Giant fake flowers, a dinosaur and a rubber chicken, courtesy of the WYK crew.
    • Obligatory "Ithaca is Gorges" banner from VisitIthaca.com
    • An antique "Next Time Bring Your Wife" Pabst Blue Ribbon sign, courtesy of FLPR's General Manager.

Who were the quiz contestants and audience members that Michael spoke to?
Hell if I know. Listen to the show and find out! Michael mostly picks them at his whim so we have no idea who's gonna get picked ahead of time.

Is there really a "My Other Car is Also a Prius" bumper sticker?
Allegedly there is, but we can't find who sells it. So we're going to create our own soon. Watch weos.org for details.

What was that red light on the stage?
That's a cue that the show was live to the nation. When the light was out, it meant that it was a break. That's when Jeff (the guy on the cello) was talking a lot about all the awesome bongs at Jabberwocky in downtown Ithaca. Shame that part didn't get on-air! :-)

Wait - WHO was that on the drums?!?!
That was the...THE...Clyde Stubblefield, drummer for James Brown among others. He joins Jeff Hamann on bass and John Thulin on piano as part of the Whad'ya Know Trio.

Is there really a Finger Lakes School of Massage?
Did Cornell really do a study on large-breasted waitresses?
Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.

Will Whad'ya Know be coming BACK anytime soon?!?!
No promises, but the feedback we got from the cast & crew was very positive. We're hoping to have them return in a year or two...preferably when the weather is a little cooler!

Did you get any pics or videos of the show?
